My Prayer
National Day of Prayer
Events of September 11, 2001

Pray without ceasing~ 1 Thessalonians 5:17

"If my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land."
II Chronicles 7:12

Our Blessed Heavenly Father:
We humbly bow before You, Our God,
    Creator and Sustainer of the Universe;
We seek Your face and Your mercy
    on Your people and the work of Your hands.
We have sinned against You
    and against each other.
We have not loved as You have taught us.
We have not obeyed You and Your precepts.
We beseech You Gracious God
    for Your mercy on us.
Forgive us, cleanse us from our sins
    and make us whole in Jesus Christ.
Help us we pray, to be a people
    that glorify You in all that we do.
Help us to look to You and Your righteousness,
Help us to love our neighbor as ourselves.
Help us to forgive as You
    have forgiven us in Jesus Christ.
Help us to be a people
    that shine with Your glory.
We are weak, but You are Strong.
We are powerless but You are All Power.
You are our Righteousness,
You are our Hope,
You are our Salvation,
You are our Life.
Though the earth be removed and fall into sea,
Though all kingdoms rise and fall,
Though death, destruction, life or victory come,
You are King of kings and Lord of lords,
Our Life, Our Breath, Our Hope, Our God.
To You be the glory, forever, Amen
